Delete disk after it has been removed from service, also before it is removed (ohysical or virtual)
$ echo 1 > /sys/block/<BLOCK-DEVICE>/device/delete
Change UUID of ext[234] filesystem
$ tune2fs VOLUME -U $(uuidgen)
